Occasionally, useful websites will display advertising that is offensive or inappropriate.\u00a0 One option to eliminate advertising is to subscribe to a paid ad-free version of a particular site.\u00a0 This supports creation of the provider’s content without exposing our families to potentially inappropriate advertising.<\/p>\n

A type\u00a0of program or app\u00a0called an ad blocker can also be useful in eliminating this type of content.\u00a0 Two of the most common are called AdBlock or AdblockPlus.\u00a0 Both seem to work fairly well, and work on various browsers.\u00a0 Be sure to chose one that works for\u00a0the browser on your device, whether it’s a desktop, laptop, or mobile device.<\/p>\n

Following are instructions for\u00a0installing and setting up AdBlock – note that Adblock Plus is very similar.<\/p>\n

Go to:\u00a0https:\/\/getadblock.com\/<\/a> and click on the Install button.<\/p>\n

After installation, click on the red stop sign in the upper right corner of your browser (lower right corner for Adblock Plus) or go to tools\/extensions.<\/p>\n
